Run for the American Dream in Tampa
The 5k run, one-mile walk benefits Solita’s House, an agency that helps educate people who want to become homeowners.
TAMPA – The second annual Run For The American Dream 5K Run/1M Walk is scheduled for Sunday (March 6).
The competitive run and walk sports event is designed to bring people together in a family oriented day at the park, full of entertainment and aimed to collect funds for the only purpose of helping our community to pursue the American Dream of home ownership. One hundred percent of all registration fees and donations go directly to the HUD counseling housing agency Solita’s House. Sponsors underwrite all the expenses associated with the race.
Solita’s House is a HUD certified housing counseling agency founded in June 2006. Initially, the founders wanted to ensure that all people interested in becoming homeowners receive the essential education, counseling and knowledge they needed to secure and maintain homeownership. Solita’s House is also focused on immersing people in the basics of being economically educated so that they can achieve financial wealth in all areas of their lives.
The run/walk will be in Al Lopez Park, 4810 N Himes Ave. Late registration begins at 7 a.m. The 5K starts at 9 a.m.; the one-mile walk at 9:05 a.m.; and the one-mile kids run at 10 a.m. After-party features live music (starts at 10 a.m.), prizes and food.
