The Care Fund is designed to provide emergency help for basic needs.

PINELLAS COUNTY – The Pinellas County Care Fund is accepting donations to help residents who need financial assistance to cover basic necessities such as water or electric bills. The Pinellas County Care Fund will provide emergency financial assistance to eligible Pinellas County adults and seniors up to one time a year. The helping hand provided by Pinellas County residents can make a tremendous difference for those faced with financial hardship, county officials say.

“The Care Fund is a mechanism for individuals who would like to lend a hand to those in the community who may be struggling to pay their utility bill.  It may help prevent someone from losing a necessary utility,” said Lourdes Benedict, director of Pinellas County Human Services.

Both individuals and businesses can contribute online at pinellascounty.org. Donations by check should be made out to the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners and sent to Pinellas County Human Services, Attn: Pinellas County Care Fund, 440 Court St., 2nd Floor, Clearwater, FL 33756.
