Santa’s helpers will deliver your new cat or dog on Christmas Day under the “Home for the Holidays Santa Special” event.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Pinellas County Animal Services once again hopes to make the holidays a little brighter for dogs and cats in need of a good home this season with the “Home for the Holidays: Santa Special” campaign.

This year, Animal Services is joined by the SPCA Tampa Bay in the countywide campaign, Pinellas officials say. For the first time, all shelter dogs and cats adopted during the week of Christmas will be eligible for “special delivery” on Christmas Day. Special arrangements may be made for one of Santa’s Helpers to deliver the new furry family member on Christmas (Dec. 25) afternoon. There will be a $30 delivery charge and a $10 per day boarding charge in addition to the adoption fee.

“We encourage our residents to celebrate the joy of the holidays by opening their home and hearts to a furry new family member,” said Doug Brightwell, interim director of Pinellas County Animal Services. “We are asking our community to help us make sure that our kennels are empty by Christmas Day.”

Many animals at both agencies will be part of a “Name Your Price” special, where the adoptive family is able to set the adoption fee for their new family member.
