Eight Arrested During Gasparilla Parade, Tampa Police Say

Another 35 people were taken to hospitals for medical issues, police said.

TAMPA – Police here have released preliminary information about parade goers who were arrested or had medical issues during Saturday’s (Jan. 28) Gasparilla parade.

The numbers were accurate as of 5 p.m. and are subject to change, Tampa police said.

Police said they arrested eight people. The arrests included one each of disorderly intoxication, public urination, disorderly conduct, possession of an open container, criminal use of a personal ID, and battery. There were two arrests for possession of cocaine.

Tampa Fire Rescue officials said they took 35 people to the hospital for medical issues. One was a trauma alert.
