Walk to End Child Sexual Abuse | Lauren's Kids

The St. Petersburg Police Department wants people to join Thursday’s (April 2) Pinellas Park/Clearwater walk to help end child sexual abuse.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department are planning to join the fight to end child abuse by taking a short walk Thursday (April 2) morning. The event is the Pinellas County portion of a larger effort spearheaded by Lauren’s Kids, founded by Lauren Book, who was a victim of childhood sexual abuse by a nanny for six years. The mission of Lauren’s Kids is to prevent sexual abuse through education and awareness, and to help survivors heal with guidance and support.

The Pinellas Park/Clearwater walk Thursday will start at the PACE Center for Girls, 4000 Gateway Center Blvd., Suite 400, Pinellas Park, and end at the Suncoast Center, 2960 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater. Check in time is 7:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. The walk starts at 8 a.m. and should be finished by 10 a.m. For information, see the St. Petersburg Police Department at facebook.com.
