This year’s gay and lesbian film fest will be shown in a Tampa theater and a St. Pete theater.

ST. PETERSBURG — Featuring screenings on both sides of the bay, the Tampa Bay International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival has announced its dates for 2016: Sept. 30 through Oct. 8.

The 27^th annual festival will offer nine days of movies. The theme this year is CommUNITY, “by and for our diverse CommUNITY,” says the TIGLFF web site. Festival screenings will address a broad range of issues and be viewed in two theaters.

From Sept. 30 to Oct. 5, screenings will be at the Tampa Theatre, as part of the theatre’s 90^th anniversary year. From Oct. 6 to Oct. 8, films will be shown at freeFall Theatre in St. Petersburg.

Many of the films are submissions. Deadlines for this year’s submissions are: early, May 15; regular, June 26; late, July 10.
