Work is ready to start on a 10-auditorium theater at Tyrone Square Mall.

ST. PETERSBURG — Groundbreaking for Tyrone Square Mall’s new Cobb Luxury 10 Theatre is Thursday  (May 14).  The theater will be built in the mall’s northwest parking lot, which fronts Tyrone Boulevard. It will include 10 auditoriums with 1,200 total seats, wall-to-wall screens with 3-D capability, and a full-service restaurant and bar. Patrons will be able to enjoy their meals in the theaters.

The theatre is expected to open in early 2016, officials say. With each auditorium accommodating slightly more than 100 people, the complex aims for quality rather than quantity, officials say. Tyrone Square has not had a theater complex since 2007, when the Old Navy store replaced AMC’s six-screen theater.
