Fulton Drive at the SR 686/East Bay Drive intersection is scheduled to be closed from Monday (May 11) through May 21 for construction work on Largo’s wet weather sewer project.

LARGO – The city’s wet weather sewer project is scheduled to begin major construction Monday (May 11) at the intersection of Fulton Drive and East Bay Drive (SR 686). The work will require that Fulton be closed on both the north and south sides of East Bay. It is scheduled to remain closed through May 21.

A traffic control plan approved by the Florida Department of Transportation with message boards and detour signs will be posted before construction. The public is advised to proceed with caution and expect traffic delays in the area.

Alternate northbound routes include Seacrest Drive and Huntington Drive. Alternate southbound routes include Melody Lane and Royal Palms Drive. Motorists on Keene Park Drive can use Huntington Drive or Seacrest Drive as an alternate route to East Bay Drive. Residents on Eagle Drive, Lake Avenue SE, Meadow Lake Avenue and Brookview Avenue can use Meadow View Avenue to Royal Palm Drive as an alternate route to East Bay Drive.

Public notices (door hangers) are being distributed to businesses and residents with construction information. The Largo police and fire departments, the Pinellas County School Board and FDOT are coordinating on the closure. For information about Largo’s wet weather sewer project, see largo.com.
