The essay contest is designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary next year of the Dunedin Highland Games.

DUNEDIN – Next year – 2016 – is the 50th year of the Dunedin Highland Games and the Dunedin Scottish Arts Foundation is holding an essay contest for Dunedin schools in collaboration with the Dunedin Public Library. Submit a 500-word essay about the Loch Ness Monster by Friday (Dec. 4) to owilson@dunedinfl.net or drop your essay off at the Dunedin Public Library Youth Services desk. There will be three age levels and prizes at each level. Please include your name, school, grade and contact information with your entry. Winners will be contacted by Dec. 11. Winners will receive gift cards and a certificate as well as read their essays at a Dunedin City Commission meeting.
