The Land O Lakes man was hit by a street sweeper Saturday (Jan. 23).

PASCO COUNTY – A Land O Lakes man died early Saturday (Jan. 23) of injuries he received when he was hit by a street sweeper, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Dead at the scene was Todd L. Perrone, 48. FHP troopers say he was in a marked crosswalk trying to cross State Road 54 at U.S. 41 about 2:10 a.m. Louis C. Yager, 24, of Brooksville, was driving a street sweeper, which had a green light, east on State Road 54. Mr. Perrone stepped into the path of the street sweeper and died at the scene. Troopers say charges are pending.
