Marines to Land in Pasco – the Marine Band, That Is

US Marine Corps Band | UMC Band | Music

The U.S. Marine Band is coming to Pasco County later this month (March).

PASCO COUNTY – The U.S. Marine Band – yes, the one that plays for the president – is scheduled to play in Pasco later this month and give students a chance to talk with members, according to the Pasco County School System.

The UMC Band is required to visit each quadrant of the U.S. once a year. Pasco County was chosen for the southeast quadrant at the request of U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-New Port Richey.

They will perform in front of the Dade City Historic Courthouse, 37918 Meridian Ave., at 3p.m. March 26. Students can ask the musicians questions or request marches to be played. Attendees can bring blankets to sit on the grass and lawn chairs to sit on the sidewalk and street, which will be closed.  After the concert, the Marines will mingle with attendees.

The band also will be featured in the Chasco Street Parade on March 25, followed by a concert in Sims Park that is open to the public.

Before the parade, they will perform a private concert for school bands, JROTC units, and student groups.
