PSTA to Receive $40-Million Federal Grant
The grant will enable the agency to continue providing bus service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
PINELLAS COUNTY – U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist, D-St. Petersburg, announced Wednesday (AUg. 5) the award of a $40.3 million grant to the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority.
The grant will keep PSTA running and able to serve the public through the challenges of COVID-19. The award comes from funding provided in the CARES Act, distributed by the Federal Transit Administration.
“Keeping our public transit system up and running during the pandemic is critical to our economy, getting people who rely on these services where they need to go,” Crist said. “This grant will keep PSTA workers on the job and provide special aid for our neighbors with disabilities who cannot use fixed route services. Let’s keep Pinellas moving forward!”
