Zephyrhills Motorcyclist Critically Injured in I-75 Crash

HERNANDO COUNTY – A Zephyrhills man was critically injured when he was thrown off his motorcycle during a crash on I-75.

The 26-year-old man was not wearing a helmet, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened about 2:12 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 22) on I-75 at about State Road 50 in Hernando County.

Troopers said the motorcyclist was headed south on the I-75 entrance ramp from SR 50. He was “accelerating rapidly” as he merged onto the interstate.

The motorcycle traveled across all three southbound lanes, entered the median and hit the guardrail. The force of the impact threw the driver from the motorcycle.
