FHP Troopers Seek Driver in Crash That Burned Building on U.S. 301
The driver fled the scene after hitting the building.
RIVERVIEW – Florida Highway Patrol troopers are searching for a driver who fled the scene after he lost control of his SUV and hit a law office that was damaged in the resulting fire.
No injuries were reported from the crash and fire.
The crash happened about 6:26 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 20) at the Tribble Law Center, 6928 U.S. 301 in Riverview in Hillsborough County.
Troopers said the unknown driver was southbound on U.S. 301 when, for unknown reasons, his SUV left the roadway and hit a raised concrete median, which cause the vehicle to become airborne and rotate.
The SUV then hit a concrete curb that cause it to become airborne a second time while overturning onto its right side.
The SUV continued traveling until it hit a privacy fence, which collapsed and damaged a utility pole. The SUV continued traveling and collided with the Tribble Law Center.
The driver fled as the SUV and building became engulfed in flames, troopers said.
