U.S. 19 Crash Kills Spring Hill Man

HERNANDO COUNTY – A Spring Hill man died this morning (June 15) when he was thrown from his pickup truck during a crash on U.S. 19, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The 54-year-old man died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

The crash happened about 1:10 a.m. on U.S. 19 N north of Vespa Way in Hernando County.

Troopers said the man was driving a pickup truck north on U.S. 19 when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle. The pickup left the road, traveled onto the grass shoulder, hit a power pole, and then a water main before overturning and throwing the driver out.
