Two Die in Wrong-Way Crash on I-275
A third driver involved in the crash was not injured, according to FHP troopers.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – Two drivers died in a head-on, wrong-way crash on I-275, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
One of the deceased drivers was a 28-year-old man from Tampa. The other, a 20-year-old Largo man. Both died at the scene.
The crash happened about 3:15 a.m. Saturday (June 6) on southbound I-275 about mile marker 39 in Hillsborough County.
Troopers said the Tampa man was driving a sedan north in the southbound lanes of I-275 when he crashed head on into the car driven by the Largo man.A third vehicle, an SUV driven by a Clearwater man, hit debris from the initial crash.
