Spring Hill Man Dies in Fiery Culbreath Road Crash

He lost control of his car, which hit a tree and burst into flames, FHP troopers say.

HERNANDO COUNTY – A Spring Hill man died Saturday (Sept. 5) in a fiery crash on Culbreath Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 74-year-old man, whose name was withheld, died at the scene.

The crash happened about 10:50 a.m. on Culbreath Road south of Carr Creek Drive in Hernando County.

Troopers said the deceased man was driving a sedan south on Culbreath when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the car.

The car left the road, entered the left shoulder, hit a tree and caught fire.
