Four others suffered minor injuries in the crash, FHP troopers say.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Dover man died of injuries he suffered when the SUV in which he was riding overturned after a crash on State Road 547.
The deceased man, aged 20, was not wearing a seat belt, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said. He died at a hospital where he was taken after the crash. A second passenger in the SUV, a 23-year old Dover man, was seriously injured. He was not wearing a seat belt either. The driver, a 20-year-old man from Dover, who suffered minor injuries, was wearing a seat belt.
Three people in the other SUV – the 49-year-old driver and two passengers, ages 28 and 49, all also from Dover – suffered minor injuries.
The crash happened about 7 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 14) on SR 574 west of Dover Road in Hillsborough County.
Troopers said the 20-year-old driver of the SUV was headed east on SR 574 when he pulled around another vehicle that had stopped to turn into a business. The driver lost control of the SUV, which began to rotate.
The 49-year-old woman who was driving the other SUV steered to the right to avoid a collision but was unsuccessful. The left side of the first SUV hit the front of her SUV and overturned.
