Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Hillsborough Avenue Crash
He was the only one injured in the three-vehicle crash, FHP troopers say.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa teenager was seriously injured Wednesday (July 8) after the bike hit a car that turned into its path, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The motorcyclist, an 18-year-old from Tampa, was wearing a helmet.
The crash happened about 9:05 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 580 (W Hillsborough Avenue) and Hoover Boulevard.
Troopers said a sedan driven by a 27-year-old Reddick man, made a U turn on Hillsborough Avenue. The turn took the sedan into the path of a westbound motorcycle on SR 580 and the two collided.
The force of the collision pushed the motorcycle into the concrete median, then into a sedan driven by a 41-year-old Tampa man that was traveling east on SR 580.
