Largo Woman Critically Injured in Fatal Crash on Polk Parkway

The driver died in the single-car crash, FHP troopers say.

POLK COUNTY – A Largo woman was listed in critical condition after a crash Sunday (Oct. 25) afternoon on State Road 570.

The 29-year-old Largo woman was a passenger in the sedan. The Florida Highway Patrol said it is unclear if she was wearing a seat belt. The woman driver, who was not identified, died in the crash. The driver was wearing a seat belt.

The crash happened about 12:05 p.m. at about the sixth mile marker on SR 570/Polk Parkway in Polk County.

Troopers said the driver was headed east on the Parkway when, for unknown reasons, she lost control of the car, which entered the median and hit a traffic sign support. The sedan then rotated and collided with a guardrail before coming to a rest.
