FHP Seeks UTV in Fatal Hit and Run on Clinton Avenue

The suspect vehicle is possibly a side-by-side UTV that could have left-front damage, FHP troopers say.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – Troopers are searching for a utility task vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

No information was available about the man who died in the crash, which happened 1:02 a.m. today (June 2) at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Bur Mac Road in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said the deceased man was walking west along Clinton at the intersection when he was hit by a vehicle that was traveling west on Clinton. The vehicle fled the scene.

The vehicle is thought to be a side-by-side UTV, with a track width of about 53 inches and a bumper height of 24 inches to 30 inches. The vehicle is likely to have front left damage.
