Dunedin Man Charged with DUI After Keystone Road Crash
A New Port Richey woman was critically injured in the crash, FHP troopers say.
PINELLAS COUNTY – A Dunedin man was arrested Tuesday (Sept. 17) night after he ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Jessica Thomas, 31, of New Port Richey, was critically injured in the crash. She was in the car that was hit, troopers said. She was taken to the Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point. The driver of that car and another passenger, who both suffered minor injuries, were also taken to Bayonet Point.
Justin John Delarosa, 43, of Dunedin, was arrested and charged with one count of Driving Under the Influence (Serious Bodily Injury), a felony. He was not injured in the crash.
The crash happened about 8:40 p.m. at the intersection of Keystone Road and East Lake Road in Pinellas County.
Troopers said Delarosa was driving a 2010 Ford F250 west on Keystone when he ran the red traffic light at the intersection of East Lake Road.
The F250 hit a 2017 Ford Fusion that was in the intersection, turning left from Keystone onto East Lake under a green turn arrow.
