Bicyclist Dies in State Road 674 Hit and Run
FHP troopers say they are looking for an orange Toyota Camry or Corolla with a missing headlight and damage to the front right fender.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A bicyclist died early this morning (May 31) when he was hit by a car that fled the scene, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Information about the bicyclist was not immediately available. Troopers said he died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.
The crash happened about 1:05 a.m. on State Road 674 west of 24th Avenue SE in Hillsborough County.
Troopers said the car, a sedan-type, was traveling east on SR 674 in the outside lane when it overtook and collided with the bicyclist.
The driver fled the scene.
Troopers said they are looking for a 2007 or later model orange Toyota Corolla or Camry with damage to its right front fender and a missing headlight assembly.
