34th Street Crash Kills 11-Year-Old Boy
Another child and two adults were also injured in the crash, St. Petersburg police say.
ST. PETERSBURG – Officers are investigating a traffic crash on 34th Street S that claimed the life of one child and injured another child and two adults , the St. Petersburg Police Department said.
Stephen Johnson, 11, died at a hospital where he was taken after the crash. Another child and two adults were also taken to a hospital where they were listed in stable condition early this morning (June 28).
The crash happened about 7:55 p.m. Saturday (June 27) at the intersection of 34th Street S and 15th Avenue in St. Petersburg.
Officers said a 2006 Honda sedan traveling south on 34th Street S struck a 2006 Chrysler sedan that was traveling north but trying to turn left onto 15th Avenue.
Police said they are still investigating details of the crash.
