‘Run for the Woods’ to Benefit Seminole State Forest
Registration is open for the Feb. 2 event that includes a include a 5K, 12K and a half-marathon that are open to all age groups and pets.
SORRENTO – The Florida Forest Service, Withlacoochee Forestry Center is hosting the third annual “Run For The Woods” scenic trail race/walk in the Seminole State Forest, .
The fundraising event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. and goes until 3 p.m. Feb 2, 2020. This fundraising event is open to all age groups and pets. It will include a 5K, 12K and a half-marathon. Runners younger than 15 must be accompanied by an adult and pets must be well behaved and leashed. This course will take runners through some of central Florida’s most beautiful state forest land and will offer fun for the whole family.
This is a charity event and all proceeds will be used to improve Seminole State Forest for the increased enjoyment of the public. Parking will be free at the Seminole Sate Forest Bear Pond Trail Head, 32058 FL 46, Sorrento.
There will be prizes for the top finishers in each race. All participants will receive a commemorative medal and T-shirt. Food, drink and coolers can be brought into Seminole State Forest.
