Volunteers are needed to help plant and remove the flags.
ST. PETERSBURG – As a tribute for the 18th anniversary of 9/11, the Camaraderie Foundation will be planting 13,000 American flags at the St. Petersburg College Allstate Center.
The foundation is looking for volunteers to help plant the flags at 5 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 11) 5 p.m. and pick them up Saturday (Sept. 14) from the center, 3200 34th St. S.
This effort will acknowledge the more than 13,000 veterans, law enforcement and firefighters who have post-traumatic stress disorder or other invisible wounds of war.
The Camaraderie Foundation’s mission is to provide healing for the invisible wounds of war through counseling, emotional and spiritual support. The group provides access to mental health counseling services, at no expense, to post-9/11 veterans, service members and their families.
