Seven shelters for adults are scheduled to be open tonight as cold weather approaches Tampa Bay.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Cold weather shelters for the homeless are scheduled to be open tonight (Feb. 27) because of a cold front expected to hit Tampa Bay, according to the Homeless Leadership Alliance of Pinellas.

The shelters open between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. (Peace Memorial opens at 5 p.m.), accept guests all night long, and close about 6 a.m. Friday (Feb. 28). Shelter guests are provided a hot evening meal, a warm safe place to spend the night, and breakfast the following morning

Families will be placed in family shelters on cold nights.  Families should call 2-1-1, Tampa Bay Cares for information on family shelters.
