Emergency Food Drive Benefits Beach Community Food Pantry
The Beach Community Food Pantry provides food monthly to about 350 individuals – accounting for families that total about 800 people.
INDIAN ROCKS BEACH – A food drive is scheduled Saturday (April 25) to benefit the Beach Community Food Pantry.
The pantry, a mission of Calvary Episcopal Church, provides food monthly to about 350 individual people, which accounts for families with a total of almost 800 members. They travel from 26 cities by car, bus, bicycle, and some walk. They range in age from 18 to more than 80 years old.
Items needed for the pantry include: soups, stew, chili; canned fruit and vegetables; pasta, spaghetti; pork and beans; kidney beans; cereal, oatmeal; peanut butter, jelly, jams; dry pet food; canned meat and fish; meals in a box.
Those wishing to donate can leave items at one of these Indian Rocks Beach restaurants between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.: 18 on the Rocks, Guppy’s, SLYCE Pizza Bar, TJ’s Italian Cafe, PJ’s Oyster Bar.
If you live on Indian Rocks Beach and would rather not leave your home, volunteers from the Indian Rocks Homeowners Association will pick up donated items between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday. Items should be left in a bag by your mailbox. Pickup is for Indian Rocks Beach residents only.
