Oldsmar Council Member Sworn in as President of Suncoast League of Cities
The Suncoast League of Cities consists of 25 member cities in three counties, spanning from St. Leo in the north to Gulfport in the south.
OLDSMAR – City Council Member Dan Saracki was sworn into office Friday (May 1) to serve a one-year term as resident of the Suncoast League of Cities.
Saracki, who was joined by his wife, Paula, took the oath in front of the Oldsmar City Hall. The ceremony was conducted by Judge Joshua Riba of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court.
“I am beyond humbled and honored to serve as the president of the Suncoast League of Cities. This is not just an honor for me, but for the city of Oldsmar. Through this organization, municipalities promote collective interests and share solutions, advance a spirit of cooperation, and protect the principles of home rule. I look forward to advancing the agenda, and adding value to such a prestigious and important organization.” Saracki said.
The Suncoast League of Cities consists of 25 member cities in three counties, spanning from St. Leo in the north to Gulfport in the south. The Florida League of Cities supports their interests of representing west-central Florida’s municipalities to the Florida Legislature, Governor’s Office, and other state agencies.
Additionally, Saracki is currently serving a one-year term as an FLC District Director for 2019-20 and as chair of the FLC Municipal Administrative Committee. He was recently named a “Home Rule Hero” by the FLC for the third year in a row in recognition for his efforts to protect the Home Rule powers of Florida’s municipalities and advance the League’s legislative agenda during the 2020 legislative session.
