Pinellas Sheriff Hosts Field Trials for Police Dogs

The six-day event, held in Pinellas Park, is open to the public.

PINELLAS PARK – The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is hosting the U.S. Police Canine Association Region 1 Field Trials.

About 60 canine teams from throughout the region are expected to compete in the trials, which will be held Sunday (Feb. 2) through Friday (Feb. 7). Trials open to the public will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday (Feb. 3) through Thursday (Feb. 6) at England Brothers Park, 5010 81st Ave. N in Pinellas Park.

Canine teams compete in categories such as Obedience and Agility, Box Search, Apprehension, and Apprehension with gunfire. There will also be a group demonstration, open to the public at 7 p.m Thursday (Feb. 6) at Pinellas Park High School, 6305 118th Ave. N.
