Tampa Rapper Accused in ‘Gang-Related’ Double Murder
Hillsborough deputies say one of the victims identified themselves as members of the “Crips” gang. The second victim’s connection to the gang or its members is unknown.
LUTZ- The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a local entertainer known as Ace NH in connection with two murders in Lutz.
Billy Bennett Adams III, 23, of Tampa, is facing two counts of Premeditated First Degree Murder with a Firearm and one count of Armed Burglary of a Structure.
About 11:46 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 19), deputies were called to a home in the 15000 block of N 23rd Street in Lutz for a reported shooting. Deputies said they found two deceased men behind the home inside a shed being used as a makeshift music recording studio.
Through interviews and other investigative means, deputies were able to identify Adams as the person who shot both victims. Adams, a well-known local rapper who goes by the name Ace NH, arrived at the studio that evening with both men. After recording his music, Adams shot both men then fled the scene in his vehicle.
Deputies said Adams and one of the men self-identify as being part of the “Crips” gang on social media. Deputies said they believe the shooting is part of a gang-related feud.
On Saturday (Nov. 21), detectives found and arrested Adams.
“This was a violent execution this suspect performed, and although the attack was clearly targeted, we will not allow gang-related disputes to disrupt the comfort and safety of innocent residents in any of our communities,” Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “Our deputies responded to the crime scene in less than five minutes the night of the murders, and due to their diligent work around the clock to solve this case, detectives arrested the suspect responsible in less than 48 hours. It is clear that this suspect had no regard for human life, and now he will face the consequences for his actions.”
