St. Petersburg Man Accused of Kicking 7 Year Old
He was upset because the girl told a lie, Pinellas deputies say.
ST. PETERSBURG – A St. Petersburg man was arrested after he pulled a child’s hair and kicked her in the back when she told a lie, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.
The 7 year old was treated at St. Petersburg General Hospital for head injuries. She has been released.
Steven Patrick Tromblee, 45, of St. Petersburg, was charged with one count of Aggravated Child Abuse.
Deputies said they were called Sunday (May 10) to a home in unincorporated St. Petersburg where the child had suffered a head injury the day before (May 9). The child had been treated at St. Petersburg General Hospital and was released. Later that evening, she told a family member about the incident. The family member called law enforcement.
Detectives said they earned that Tromblee had become upset with the child for telling a lie. He pulled the victim’s hair and pushed her in the back with his foot. The force of the push caused the child to fly forward and strike her head against an object in the room.
During an interview, detectives said, Tromblee admitted to grabbing the childs hair and kicking her in the back, ultimately causing the injury.
