Hillsborough deputies say they are continuing to search for other women involved in the burglary.
RIVERVIEW – Deputies have arrested one woman and are searching for others in connection with the burglary of a Riverview liquor store, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
Lawrencia Dixon, 19, was charged with one count each of Burglary of an Unoccupied Structure While Wearing a Mask, Criminal Mischief While Wearing a Mask ($1,000 or More), Grand Theft with $1,000 in Damage, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Dealing in Stolen Property. Deputies said Dixon was on active felony probation in connection with a charge of Grand Theft.
Deputies said they were called to Star Liquor, 3847 U.S. 301 S in Riverview, about 12:13 a.m. Monday (June 1) where a burglary had taken place. The front entrance door was shattered, liquor bottles lay broken on the floor, and several more were missing. About $8,000 worth of alcohol had been taken.
Surveillance video from inside the store led deputies to identify Dixon as one of the suspects. An arrest warrant was issued and Dixon was arrested at her residence. Detectives siad they found four bottles of Ciroc Vodka in Dixon’s kitchen cabinet. In the surveillance video, Dixon can be seen taking the same brand of alcohol off store shelves.
Dixon told deputies she met the other women involved in the burglary at a protest. Deputies said she also sold some of the stolen alcohol through social media.
Surveillance video shows several women gathering in front of the store and breaking into it. Anyone who recognizes any of the women should to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200.
