Crystal Beach Man Tried to Murder Brother, Deputies Say
His brother was taken to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries, Pinellas deputies say.
CRYSTAL BEACH – A Crystal Beach man was arrested early this morning after he shot his brother, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Ralph Edward “Eddie” Paulk III, 36, of Crystal Beach, was shot in the lower abdomen. He was taken to a trauma center with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
His brother, Alexander Michael Paulk, 28, also of Crystal Beach, was charged with one count of Attempted Murder, Second Degree.
Deputies said they were called to the Paulk home on Avery Avenue about 12:02 a.m. after several residents reported hearing a gunshot.
When deputies arrived, they said they found Ralph Paulk with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Detectives said there was a domestic argument upstairs at a residence between Ralph Paulk and his brother, Alexander. During the argument, the brothers went outside and downstairs to the landing area of the staircase. As they were arguing, they were joined by their father, 61-year-old Ralph Edward Paulk Jr.
During the argument, Alexander Paulk commented that he had something for his brother and produced a handgun. Alexander Paulk fired one round into his brother’s abdomen, deputies said.
Alexander immediately left the scene on foot but returned a short time later. When interviewed by detectives, Alexander claimed to not know about the incident.
