Clearwater Man Accused of DUI in Hit and Run

CLEARWATER – A Clearwater man has been arrested and charged in connection with a hit-and-run crash Saturday (Jan. 2) afternoon.
The other driver, whose name was not released, was airlifted to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg in serious condition.
Darrell Domonick Thomas, 36, was charged with one count each of Driving with a Suspended or Revoked License, Driving Under the Influence, and Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Injury.
The crash happened about 3:39 p.m. at the intersection of Eldridge Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Clearwater.
Details were unavailable, but police said that the injured man was driving a three-wheeled motorcycle. Thomas fled after the crash and parked his car in the 1100 block of Drew Street.
