Belleair Man Charged with Murder of Missing Safety Harbor Man
He was reported missing after leaving a friend’s house in Pinellas Park. His body was found in his truck in Seminole.
PINELLAS COUNTY – A Belleair man has been charged with the murder of a Safety Harbor man who had been missing since April 22, the PInellas County Sheriff’s Office said.
The body of the 49-year-old deceased man, whose name was withheld, died of multiple gunshot wounds. His body was found Tuesday (May 5) inside his truck which was parked behind a business on Seminole Boulevard. He had been reported missing on April 22.
Rain Resuli, 20, of Belleair, was one count each of First Degree Murder, Grand Theft Auto and Burglary to an Unoccupied Dwelling.
Deputies said the deceased man had been reported missing when he failed to reach his destination after leaving a friend’s home in Pinellas Park. Pinellas Park police took a report, talked with the friend and began a missing person investigation.
This past Tuesday (May 5), deputies received information about an abandoned truck parked behind a business at 7895 Seminole Blvd. in Seminole. When deputies arrived, they discovered a deceased man inside the truck, who was determined to be the missing man.
Sheriff’s detectives said they learned that Resuli was the last person to meet with the dead man. Resuli, they said, murderedhim during an arranged meeting they had scheduled in Largo. Resuli then drove the victim’s truck to the victim’s home in Safety Harbor and burglarized the residence.
After the burglary, Resuli drove the victim’s truck to Seminole and parked it with the dead man inside.
