Seminole Sets Hurricane Seminar

The two-hour event is free and open to the public.

SEMINOLE – This Saturday (May 19), the city of Seminole is hosting a hurricane seminar from 10 a.m.to noon at the Seminole Public Library, 9200 113 St.

Topics will be Lessons Learned from Hurricane IRMA, Preparedness Procedures That You Can Implement, Debris Management and Recovery, and the Seminole CERT program. The featured speaker is meteorologist Julie Phillips of WFLA StormTeam 8, who will discuss hurricanes and tropical cyclones.

Hurricane Irma affected the entire state of Florida, impacting many levels infrastructure and causing numerous disruptions in people’s lives. The key to surviving and managing the next storm relies on how well prepared someone is to handle the crisis.
