Kenneth City Briefing Gives Tips on Surviving a Hurricane

Hurricane | Weather | Tropical Storm

A member of the Pinellas County Emergency Management Services will share tips and guidance on how to prepare for hurricane season at tonight’s (Sept. 18) event.

KENNETH CITY – Living in Florida, it’s not a question of “if,” but “when” you will experience a hurricane, and not only are acts of nature, such as hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes unavoidable, but, more importantly, they are highly unpredictable.

One minute a hurricane could be headed to the East Coast of Florida and the next it turns and comes straight toward the West Coast. There’s no way to prevent a natural disaster from happening, but with a little organization and careful preparation, you can at least make the experience a little less horrific. Be safe. Be prepared.

A member of the Pinellas County Emergency Management Services will share tips and guidance on how to prepare for hurricane season during a briefing session from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today (Sept. 18) at the Kenneth City Community Hall, 4600 58th St. N. For information, contact Kenneth City Town Clerk Cindy McCarthy Matson at mccarthy@kennethcityfl.org or (727) 498-8948.
