Gulfport Schedules Hurricane Seminar

The event is free and open to the public. Two slices of  pizza and a drink will be available for $3.

GULFPORT – It’s never too late to prepare for upcoming hurricane season.

The city of Gulfport will host its annual hurricane seminar with related take-home information. The featured guests are Mary Burrell from Pinellas County Emergency Management and certified broadcast meteorologist Bobby Deskins from WTSP. Discussion will be on changes in evacuation zones and surge levels. This free community event is scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday (May 25) at the Catherine Hickman Theater, 5501 27th Aven. S.

The theater lobby will open at 6 p.m. to give participants a chance to browse vendors. You can get two slices of pizza and a drink for $3 to eat while browsing.

With just a few spots left, hurricane-related vendors are encouraged to email Gail Biron at gbiron@mygulfport.us to ask about openings. There is no charge for a spot. All vendor requests will be reviewed by Gulfport Fire Chief, James Marenkovic.
