Zephyrhills Airport to Receive $2 Million Grant, Bilirakis Says
The grant is earmarked for renovation of the airport’s taxiway and taxiway lighting.
ZEPHYRHILLS – U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-Tarpon Springs) announced today that the Zephyrhills Municipal Airport has been awarded a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The grant is earmarked for improvements to the taxiway and taxiway lighting.
“This is great news for Pasco County. An investment in the airport’s infrastructure is an investment in our community and the local economy. By improving the Zephyrhills Municipal Airport, we are demonstrating that Pasco is ready and open for business,” Bilirakis said.
The airport is the only publicly owned and operated airport in the Pasco County Region. It has two 5,000-foot runways. The airport provides hangars, rental cars, a courtesy car to local restaurants and businesses and a wide variety of aircraft and aviation services on airport.
Biliraks represents Florida’s 12th Congressional District, which includes north Pinellas and Pasco counties.
