Pinellas Looking for Volunteers to Serve on Bus Transit Board

The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority board meets once a month.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Applications are being accepted for a three-year citizen appointment to the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority board.

The person chosen must be a registered Pinellas voter with an outstanding reputation for civic pride, interest, integrity, responsibility, and business ability.  The citizen appointment may not be an elected official, nor may she/he be employed by any city or the county in any capacity. Members may not have any private financial interest, directly or indirectly, in any contract, work, or business of the Authority or any public transit system subject to regulation by the PSTA or be in the employ of or hold any stock, bond, investment, or other financial interest or private business relationship to any operator of a public transit system in the area. PSTA meetings are held monthly, usually the fourth Wednesday.  Board positions are unpaid, voluntary positions. This is a working board and the PSTA is seeking members who can dedicate the time to attend monthly meetings on a consistent basis.

The PSTA board consists of 15 members. Eight of the 15 board members must be present in order to hold a meeting. All meetings are open to the public. Mandatory applications and must be received no later than the close of business on Wednesday, Aug. 12. The Board of County Commissioners will review applications and make their selections at a future meeting.
