Zephyrhills Man Dies in Single-Car Crash

His car hydroplaned when it traveled over standing water, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY – A Zephyrhills man was killed Thursday (May 31) when he lost control of his car after it hydroplaned, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Cory Nettnin, 58, of Zephyrhills, died at the scene.

The crash happened about 4:10 p.m. on Fort King Road near the intersection of Bozeman Road in Pasco County.

Troopers said Mr. Nettnin was driving a 2006 Ford Focus south on Fort King Road when he descended a hill and overran standing water at the bottom of the hill. The Ford hydroplaned and spun then left the road and collided with a metal utility pole.
