The crash happened about 11:36 p.m. on State Road 54 near the RaceTrac gas station at 5823 SR 54 in New Port Richey.

Troopers said there was a disturbance of some sort at the RaceTrac. A 2000-2002 blue Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a man left the gas station and turned west on SR 54. Ms. Emile was hanging half in and half out of the front passenger side window.

As the Tahoe continued down SR 54, Ms. Emile fell out of the window and onto the roadway where she was hit by another vehicle that was traveling west on SR 54.

Both drivers fled the scene.

Troopers said that, on Saturday (June 2), Jonathan Randall Gordon, 22, of East Haven, CT, surrendered himself and his 2001 Chevrolet Suburban to authorities. The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disturbance that occurred in the parking lot btween Ms. Emile and Gordon.
