Woman Critically Injured When Truck Hits Her Home

Hillsborough deputies are seeking the driver, who fled after the crash.

CARROLLWOOD – A Carrollwood woman was critically injured Saturday (Nov. 24) when a truck hit her house and pinned her and her dog on the couch.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue worked for more than 30 minutes using air bags and rescue cribbing to free her. She was flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital in critical condition with trauma-related injuries. The dog was not injured, and turned over to a family member, firefighters said. Officials did not release the woman’s name.

The crash happened about 6:34 p.m. on Pepperfield Drive in the Plantation area of Carrollwood in Hillsborough County.

When firefighters arrived, they found a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck had hit the home and pinned the woman and dog inside. The driver had fled on foot.

Detectives are searching for the man who was driving the truck, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Detectives said they believe that Robert Devon Siders III, 30, may have more information about the crash and are asking that anyone with information about his whereabouts contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200.
