Ulmerton Road Crash Kills Ruskin Motorcyclist
The other driver turned in front of him, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.
ST. PETERSBURG – A Ruskin motorcyclist died Friday (Aug. 24) in a traffic crash on Ulmerton Road, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.
Kevin J. Charles, 38, died at the scene. The other driver, Robyn V. Pearce, 26, of St. Petersburg, was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Mr. Charles was wearing a helmet. Impairment is not a factor in the crash.
The crash happened about 9 a.m. on Ulmerton Road at Fountain Parkway.
Police said Pearce was driving a Toyota Yaris west on Ulmerton when she turned left in front of the Kawasaki motorcycle that Mr. Charles was driving east on Ulmerton.
Eastbound lanes of Ulmerton remained closed for several hours after the crash.
