The repairs could last up to several weeks.

PINELLAS COUNTY – Utilities crews continue repair work on an 8-inch sewer line that caused a roadway depression which has closed the easternmost travel lane of U.S. 19.

To repair the broken section of the gravity line, crews must install a bypass where the line broke and then repair the damaged section of pipe. The lane, The lane, north of Curlew Road in Palm Harbor, will remain closed while repairs are made. The work could take up to several weeks, depending on the condition of the entire line and how long it will take to repair.

The depression developed Monday (Feb. 27) afternoon, forcing the lane closure. Drivers in the area are advised to allow a one-lane clearance to the closed lane as a safety precaution. Access to businesses in the area of the work will still be available from U.S. 19 and Curlew Road.

Customers experiencing any issues with their service should call Pinellas County Utilities Customer Service at (727) 464-4000.

Pinellas County Utilities will provide updates, as needed, at pinellascounty.org.
