U.S. 19 Crash Kills Motorcyclist

The other driver ran a red light, according to the Tarpon Springs Police Department.

TARPON SPRINGS – A motorcyclist died this morning (Nov. 12) from injuries he received in a traffic crash on U.S. 19 caused when another driver ran a red light, the Tarpon Springs Police Department said.

Sam Bellotte, 66, of Tarpon Springs, died on route to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

The other driver, Carolyn Stefanski, 57, of Largo, ran a red light and was issued a traffic summons, police said.

The crash happened about 10 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 19 N and Martin L. King, Jr. Boulevard.

Stefanski was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla north on U.S. 19 when it struck the 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle that Mr. Bellotte was driving west, on Martin L. King, Jr.
