Teen Seriously Injured by Hit and Run Driver in Pasco

The 17 year old was walking along the side of the road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY – A teen was seriously injured Friday (April 5) when he was hit while walking along a Pasco roadside, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Austyn Cochuyt, 17, was of Zephyrhills, was taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital in serious conditions.

The crash happened about 7:08 p.m. on U.S. 301 south of Justin Avenue. Cochuyt was walking west on the grass shoulder of 301 when he was hit by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene. Troopers said they found a greenish/gray side mirror belonging to a Honda Accord. Anyone with any information is asked to call the FHP at (813) 631-4020.
