Tanker Fire Briefly Closes I-75

No one was injured.

DADE CITY – Northbound I-75 was briefly closed this morning (Feb. 23) while firefighters put out a tanker truck fire.

Details about the incident are limited but Pasco County Fire Rescue said a natural gas powered tanker caught on fire while traveling down the interstate. The driver pulled onto the exit ramp at State Road 52 where firefighters battled the blaze. The trailer of the truck was empty and contained no hazardous material.
