Tampa Motorcyclist Dies in I-4 Crash

FHP troopers said he collided with a utility trailer being towed by another vehicle.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa man died Wednesday (Dec. 5) when his motorcycle collided with a utility trailer on I-4, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Richard Eugene Duignan, 56, of Tampa, died at the scene.

The crash happened about 7:21 p.m. on westbound I-4 west of Macintosh Road in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said. Mr. Duignan was riding a 2010 Kawasaki west on I-4 in the center lane. He overtook a 2003 Ford F250 that was in the outside lane. Mr. Duignan caught up with the truck, changed lanes and collided with the utility trailer that the truck was towing.
